| Originally a charter airport it is now the home
of a number of 'low cost' schedule airlines. London Luton is 32 miles from
central London by road. London Luton Airport's passenger figures continue
to rise with more than 5.4 million people, travelling to 60 destinations, using
the airport annually. |

Operated by: In August 1998 a unique
public/private partnership saw the concession to operate the airport for 30
years awarded to a private consortium. The consortium is made up of Barclays
Private Equity (32.5 per cent shareholding), Barclays UK Infrastructure (32.5
per cent), TBI plc (25 per cent) and Bechtel Enterprises (10 per cent).
